Start a trial or activate a license
Start a 14-day trial or activate a license to load the main Phials window. Until Phials finds a valid trial or license, it shows an access screen instead of opening your files and saved session. On a new installation, that screen is titled Activate Phials.
Start the trial
Choose Start 14-day trial on the activation screen. Phials starts the trial on this computer and opens the main window.
You do not need an account or license key to start the trial. Trial setup is stored on the computer and does not require an internet connection. A computer can start the trial once. After the trial expires, Phials returns to the activation screen and does not offer another trial on the same computer.
Activate a license
Activation requires an internet connection because Phials registers the license to this computer.
- Paste your license key into License key.
- Choose Activate.
- Wait for the main Phials window to load.
After successful activation, Phials stores the signed license on the computer, so ordinary launches can work offline.
If all activations for the license are in use, Phials lists the active computers. Choose Manage account, deactivate a computer in the account portal, then return to Phials and choose Activate again.
If you do not have a license key
Choose Purchase a license to open Phials pricing in your browser. You can also open the Phoundry account portal to manage an existing subscription or its activated computers.
If activation fails while you are offline or the licensing service cannot be reached, Phials remains on the activation screen. Restore the connection and try Activate again; starting the local trial remains available if this computer has not used it.
After access is granted, complete first launch.
