Themes

Choose how Phials looks and which font the integrated terminal uses. Appearance settings apply across the app and are saved for next time you open Phials.

Open appearance settings

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Under General, select Appearance.

You will see Theme options first, then Terminal settings on the same page.

Color scheme and themes

Color Scheme

Pick how Phials decides between light and dark:

  • System: follow your operating system appearance.
  • Light: always use light mode.
  • Dark: always use dark mode.

Dark Theme and Light Theme

Each mode has its own theme list. Choose the theme you want for dark mode and for light mode from the dropdowns. Theme names may include an author credit when one is provided.

The description under the active mode’s dropdown is marked (Active) when that mode is currently in effect (including when System matches your OS).

Changes apply immediately when you pick a new value.

Terminal font

Still on Appearance, scroll to Terminal.

  • Font Family: the monospace font used in the integrated terminal.
  • Phials loads fonts from your system. While fonts are loading, the control is disabled and you may see “loading fonts…”
  • When loading finishes, the description shows how many fonts are available.

Pick a font from the list; Phials saves your choice automatically.
