Editing the Context Menu
Right-click menus in Phials list actions for the item under your cursor. You can hide commands you do not need; hidden commands still work from the command bar or keyboard shortcuts.
This page covers Settings → Commands → Context Menus. It does not change what appears in the path bar or tab bar.
Open context menu settings
- Open Settings.
- Under Commands, select Context Menus.
Show or hide a command
Commands are grouped by area (for example clipboard or file actions). Each row has:
- A toggle: on means the command appears in right-click menus; off means it is hidden.
- Label and optional description.
- An internal id shown in small type (for support; you do not need to memorize it).
To hide a command, turn its toggle off. Hidden rows are shown struck through in the list.
Use Search commands… to filter the list by label, description, or id.
Show everything again
When one or more commands are hidden, Show All (N hidden) at the top becomes available. Click it to make every context menu command visible again.
An info note on the page reminds you: hidden commands can still run via shortcuts or the command bar.
What this does not do
- Order in the live menu follows Phials’ standard grouping, not the order of rows in settings.
- Hiding a command does not remove its keyboard shortcut.
- Some commands only appear in certain situations (for example when a file type supports them). Hiding them only affects menus where they would have been offered.
